they sortened the course i think they were expecting it to be alot colder

and they put the slalom straight away in the run section with about 8-10 ups and they hurt as you will remember

its Bi Annual not Bi Yearly
that is 2 times a year not every two years

you have the EVIL but excellent winter Toughguy
and the girly but tough summer Toughguy traditionally called the nettle warrior
because the first few hundred have to break the path through the waist high nettles on the x-country bit
by the time the mere mortals run through its a bit like a bridle path

in the winter you do a longer run but only one lap of the assault course
you do run the risk of hypothermia if you are not protected against the wind once you are wet

in the Summer you do a shorter run ( but the slalom is much harder ) and 2 laps of the assault course
and you actually look forward to the water as July is usually warm and after the run your blood is up
but…
and here is the killer because of the slime and general greenage growths on top of the water
the sun does not actually warm it up – so its only every feeling like 10 degrees warmer than winter

in the winter the average time is 2.5 – 3hrs
in the summer its closer to 3.5 ( that second lap is a killer )
