Finding a long lost friend using the Internet - finding Jonas Looser of Wallisellen, Switzerland
Final Update:
The most bizarre thing happened a few days ago! Jonas got in contact with me! I received an email from him saying that he had searched for his name in google after listening to a radio show in the US about tracking people down on google. Talk about a coincidence!
So sure enough my experiment worked, but I never expected it to end this way… cool :)

So here goes… today, whilst driving home from a huge pub Sunday lunch with a bunch of friends, I was wondering how I could get back in touch with a long lost friend from Switzerland.
Surely with the help of the blogosphere, google and other services I should be able to contact my friend in some way or another. So here goes… My challenge is to try to contact my swiss school friend Jonas Loser, who’s address and phone number I no longer know, by the 24th December and wish him a happy Christmas (in German of course).
So far I have found and emailed the following:
Update 1: Ooops I think this challenge is going to prove rather pointless as I think I’ve managed to find him in under 24 hours. Doh!
Update 2: Ok back to square one… the jlooser@hotmail.com email account is no longer valid. Lets hope Jonas does an occasionaly Google vanity search and finds this.
Some more information that could help you, help me find him :)
Update 3: I think I’m onto a winner. The first link above at the Zürcher Hochschule Winterthur makes sense. He’s into computers and I can well imagine him running a department there. I’ve emailed the address so lets see if I get a reply tomorrow :)
