Had this kinda thing happe to me in Kenia. Believe me, you're better of. Kenia is nice, but not when you're trying to get back home. No good internet connection, silly phone connections, noone who really understands you. I had to pay 500 € per person (we're three) to get back, on top of all the extra expenses there.
